I absolutely love making frozen foods in my air fryer. They cut down the cooking time making meals quicker and easier. These frozen hash brown patties in the air fryer do just that.

The recipe is insanely simple and is a personal staple in our breakfast routine. We are constantly making these for breakfast when we have people over, or even just our family of 4.

It can be used with Ore Ida frozen hash brown patties or even just generic store brand versions.

I made this recipe in my Cosori Air Fryer. I can fit a total of 6 frozen hash brown patties in the air fryer at one time, which is more than enough when cooking for our entire family.

How to Make Frozen Hash Brown Patties in the Air Fryer

Preheat your air fryer to 400 degrees.

Place the frozen hash brown patties in one layer in the air fryer with a cook time of 8-10 minutes flipping halfway through with a plastic spatula.

If you like a crispier hash brown patty, feel free to let them cook a few minutes extra. An extra 3 to 5 minutes should help.

Since most frozen hash brown patties already contain oil from their original cooking, you can make this recipe with absolutely no oil needed.

If you do happen to notice the patties getting too dry for your liking, you can spritz them with a little oil using an EVO Oil Sprayer to add some moisture back into them.

I have not had to do this while cooking these hash brown patties.

Remove the patties from the air fryer, wait 2 minutes to allow them to cool slightly, then enjoy!

It's really that easy.

Can I Stack the Hash Brown Patties in the Air Fryer?

While stacking most frozen foods in an air fryer is okay, I do not recommend stacking these hash brown patties.

The patties start to get a little fragile once cooked and can fall apart if stacked.

My rule of thumb is if the basket is shaken to rotate the food instead of flipping them with a spatula, the food can be stacked, like French fries, chicken wings, and roasted carrots.

What Kind of Utensils Should You Use to Flip Food in an Air Fryer?

Since the coating on an air fryer is nonstick, you should always use plastic utensils such as spatulas.

Using a metal spatula can cause the basket to scratch and possibly even start to peel in those scratched areas.

Once the coating peels off, the basket will no longer be non-stick, causing you to need more oil while cooking and making it harder to clean.
