For some reason, there is some disbelief when you tell people about air fryer scallops …surely not, that's not possible they tell me.

Scallops are a delicate food, make no mistake about it. Even on a stovetop, there is potential to overcook them which leaves them rubbery. Scallops in air fryer should not be possible…surely…Lets find out.

Here's the thing…I cook for a living. I know what good food is…scallops are good food. Air fryer scallops …really? Yes, really.

They are impressive to say the least. Air fryer sea scallops are delicious…absolutely succulent and wonderfully tender when they are made in the air fryer. Why you should cook scallops in air fryer…rather than on a stovetop

I would always recommend that you learn how to do them on the stovetop…there is a skill to it although it is simple to learn. Cooking scallops in air fryer is simple…let the machine take the work and the clean up afterwards is simpler. Your choice of course, there is a method that will suit everybody.

How to cook scallops in hot air fryer

Cooking air fried scallops could not be simpler. Follow this method for perfect scallops in air fryer. Before you start, you need to prepare the scallops. Brush them with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.

Preheat your air fryer to 390F
Place your scallops into the air fryer
Cook for two minutes – them turn them over for another two minutes
Your air fryer scallops are cooked.

Quick tip: Do not wait for them to brown like they would in a pan, they won't. If you wait for them to brown in an air fryer, they will overcook.

Breaded scallops air fryer

If you don't fancy plain scallops, then you should consider breaded scallops. The outside is wonderfully crunchy and crispy which gives scallops a whole new consistency. They ate simple to make and make a great change from the usual cooking method.

Air fryer bacon wrapped scallops

This is another favourite of mine…I love bacon…I love scallops. Put them together and…voila!
